Joe Childs is a recording artist, concert performer, independent studio owner and the director of guitar at a private academy in Buffalo, NY. His musical repertoire consists of many styles that include blues, folk, classical, rock, country and jazz standards. Joe creates smooth and subtle sound textures using both acoustic and electric guitar and with over 20 years experience, Childs is flexible, able to create ambiance that enhances any event or ceremony. In addition, Joe has been involved in several group projects including dinner theater, an award winning country band, and a popular music lounge act.

• Current Projects:

  • Playing for almost 25 years, professionally playing for over 18 years, Joe has been teaching students to play guitar for 16 years. He is currently the director of guitar for The Sacred Heart Academy, a private Catholic school, located in Williamsville NY. He is also the owner of a private lessons studio located in Amherst NY.
  • Joe is in his ninth year as the chosen premier guitar player to highlight the Quaker Arts Festival, held annually in Orchard Park NY.
  • Joe has joined forces with Amanda Nagurney, a raising local vocal star to create an outstanding, dynamic, county acoustic duo. Together Joe and Amanda bring to the stage many cover songs as well as many original tunes.
  • Continuing to develop his abilities as a professional guitar player, Joe draws from his vast knowledge of musical genres such as jazz, country, blue grass, rock, world beat, and blues to bring to the stage a compilation of music by artists such as Eric Clapton, Leo Kottke, Dave Matthews, Johnny Cash, Dierks Bentley, Keb-Mo, Pink Floyd, Michael Hedges, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Gordan Lightfoot, Lyle Lovett and many more. Joe is guaranteed to bring an acoustic ambience to any surrounding that is incomparable to any other guitar player. Joe excels in venues such as country clubs, casinos, live outdoor festivals, pubs, state fairs, and county fairs. Joe is continuously sought to perform at many local weddings.

  Recent Projects:

  • During his 3 year tour with Sudden Urge, Joe worked with the members of Actor’s Anonymous as the lead guitar player for ‘Donny Dulce and Fusion’ the “off beat” Rock N’ Roll band for Tony & Tina’s Wedding. The longest running comedy in Off Broadway history. Joe branched out to include county in his genre of music when he joined the ’90 West’ band, a local award winning country band in 2007. Taking his passion to the next level, Joe formed a bluegrass band, Grass Junction in 2007 where he developed his skills as a banjo player. In early 2008, Joe joined a World Music band with focus on Latin and Caribbean Music, The Tashama Experience.
